Sorin Mischia, 30, is accused of trying to kill a woman in her home by choking and stabbing her after a drink and drugs binge. An alleged knifeman stripped naked and tried to murder a woman in her own home after a drink and drugs session, a court was told. Sorin Mischia is accused of choking and stabbing the victim in a "prolonged and sustained" attack, which left her fearing she would be raped. Afterwards, it was said, the year-old was found by police "naked and covered in blood lying in a road". Mischia, of Church Lane, Erdington , has denied charges of attempted murder and wounding with intent. Matthew Brook, prosecuting, told Birmingham Crown Court the defendant had gone out drinking with the victim's brother, a work colleague, on October 17 last year. They went to a restaurant and then a city centre bar before going to the brother's home in Erdington, where the colleague lived with his sister, the court heard. In the early hours of the following day, Mischia, who later told police he had taken cocaine, had gone into the woman's bedroom and asked if she could help him set up a sofa bed in the lounge, said Mr Brook. It's important to know what's going on and what is being done about it by police and the criminal justice system.
